FAQ
-
Do I need a referral? No. In the state of North Carolina we have Direct Access which means you are not required to have a referral to be treated by a physical therapist. If you already have one, that's fine too!
-
Can I use my insurance out of network? What is involved in that?Absolutely. Submitting to your insurance company for reimbursement is pretty simple. Upon request, we can provide a superbill which will list all of the necessary information for your insurance company to determine reimbursement rate. To check with your insurance company about out network benefits, just call the number on the back of your card. Reimbursement rates are unique to each plan and we cannot guarantee what they will be.

Do you accept insurance? The Performance Lab does not accept insurance. We are a private pay clinic which means we accept payment at the time of your appointment. WHY? The burden of billing and accepting insurance requires most in-network clinicians to see 3-4 patients at a time which means a majority of the care is delegated to assistants or aides which requires increased frequency of visits (2-3x per week) as well as decreased quality of care as the providers attention is split in many directions. At The Performance Lab, you will receive 1 on 1, personalized, and detailed care for the duration of your appointment. This allows us to deliver higher quality care and better outcomes at a decreased frequency. It is well established that private pay physical therapy produces results in fewer visits resulting in a lower overall cost to the consumer. This includes saving money but also TIME. We offer full transparency on cost for each visit so there are no surprises or unexpected charges ever.

What does concierge service mean? The Performance Lab is a concierge service company. That means we come to YOU! Services can be provided at your home, at the park, or at a gym! Want to be seen in a gym setting but don't have access? The Performance Lab has clinic and gym spaces at local facilities across the area.
